Remembering Cecil
Cecil Sterling Snook – 75, Balfron, Colchester Co., passed away May 28, 2023 in QEII – VG Site.
Born in Balfron, he was a son of the late Crawford and Kathleen (Murphy) Snook.
In his younger years, Cecil went to work in the Tobacco Fields in Ontario later working for his uncle Harold doing Tree Removal. In later years, he was employed with Tim Horton’s Childrens Camp in maintence and groundskeeping as well as working for Dexter Construction and Dale Construction and finally in the woods for various contractors.
Cecil always enjoyed keeping busy. He kept a meticulous house as well as a large garden. He also was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Snook and her children, Hayden, Daimen, Mathew and Sebastian all of Wetaskiwin, AB; son, James (Samantha) Snook and their children, Avery, Sterling and Willow all of Martensville, Sask.
He is survived by brothers, Roland (Dorothy), New Annan, Russell (Carolynn), Kindersley, Sask., Crawford “Pete” (Jamie), Kindersley, Sask., Stewart (Jean), Wetaskiwin, Alta.; sisters, Dorothy (late Roger) Langille, Victoria, BC, Irene (late Martin), McNutt, Balfron, Marlene (David) Mattatall, New Annan, Frances (Edward) Sutherland, River John, Violet, Tatamagouche, Helen (Kevin) Weatherbie, Balmoral; aunts, Margaret “Molly” Ferguson, Hamilton, Ont., Annie Brown, River John, Sylvia Murphy, Balfron; uncle, Harold Murphy, Hamilton, Ont.; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Cecil was predeceased by brothers, Willie, Edward, Robert, Roy, Randall, Hughie, Carl; sisters, Jean and Marie; one sibling in infancy.
A Graveside Service and Interment will be held Saturday, October 14th at 1pm in the Balfron Cemetery with Rev. Connie McNamara officiating.
