It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Cecelia Mary Slaney of Little St. Lawrence announces her passing. Cecelia passed away at her home in St. Lawrence on Wednesday, August 30th, 2023, at the age of 85.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her husband of 48 years, Joseph Little; her sons, Paul Slaney (Joy) of Lawn, Matthew Slaney (Sherri) of McBride, BC, Harry Little (Rachel) of Oromocto, NB; daughters, Coleen D’Entremont (Aldric) of West Pubnico, NS, Yvonne Knowlton (Gary) of Maitland, NS, Rhonda Fancey (Randy) of Hatchet Lake, NS; 14 grandchildren, Stephanie, Marlee, Paula, Christina, Connor, MacKenzie, Jonathan, Jenna, Robyn, Jayden, RayAnn, Declan, Sean, Alexandria; sisters, Viola (Clyde), Theresa (Gary), Bernice (David), Marie (Brian); brothers, Cyril (Shirley) Moe (Helen), Eric (Mary), Fabian (Terri), Ray (Joanna); a wide circle of community friends and extended family.
Cecelia was predeceased by son Sean; daughters, Marcella and Violet; husband Ron; parents, Patrick and Violet Clarke (Nee Cluett); brother Tom.
Cele grew up in Little St. Lawrence and was very proud of her heritage, her family and her siblings who forever held a special place in her heart. She always said «if I can’t help someone I would never hurt them.» She took great pride in raising her children as they all became educated adults raising and educating their children. Her goal in life was to see them all grow and succeed. The love of her life, Joe, her one strong constant for the last 48 years. Their love never wavered, their laughter and late night conversations were endless. She was his queen, his forever. She will be forever missed.
Cele, Joe and family would like to thank Wendy Taylor, community health nurse and Dr. Erin FitzPatrick who provided endless compassionate care through her short illness.
The Slaney Family will be accepting visitors at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, St. Lawrence on Friday, September 1st, 2023 beginning at 10:00 am and Saturday, September 2nd, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at on Saturday, September 2nd, 2023 at 2:00 pm. In following her wishes, cremation to Follow
