Peterson, Carolyn (nee Gross)
Peacefully passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023, surrounded by her family at Freeport Health Centre, at the age of 79 years.
Wife of the late Robert Peterson (2004). Dear mother of Cheryl (Paul), and Debbie (Al). Grandma “Bugle” to Taylor (Jake). Sister of Ray (Joyce), Gerry (Shari), twin sister Marilyn Moyer (Larry), Suzanne Lafaivre (John), and the late Anthony “Butch” (Linda). Fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews and their families, and her many friends and neighbours.
Carolyn enjoyed her Tim Hortons coffees, playing the lottery and bingo nights. Maggie, her spoiled cat, gave her purpose and companionship. Carolyn had a kind, generous personality that touched many people throughout her life. She will be known by many for the Sunday Night Dinners at the Lake, pierogies and cabbage rolls at Christmas, and taking the time for a conversation with a neighbour.
Her family would like to offer their heartfelt thank you to all her caregivers, doctors and nurses who provided exceptional care to her throughout her year long journey.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral home visitation or funeral service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations to Grand River Regional Cancer Centre or the Grand River Hospital Foundation Continuum of Care would be appreciated by the family and may be made through the Dreisinger Funeral Home.
