Obituary of Carol Marion Loosley
Surrounded by her daughters, Carol M. Loosley (D’Entremont) was ushered into Heaven on June 17, 2024, and was reunited with her loving husband, Greg Loosley.
Carol was born September 26, 1949, in Woodstock, ON, where she spent her younger years, before moving to her beloved Maritimes. Growing up she had a special bond with her sister, Margaret, who later in life would play a pivotal role in Carol finding Jesus as her personal Saviour. One of her favorite pastimes was studying her Bible, which led her to leading women’s Bible study groups. Her deep faith in God helped her through life’s challenges and she was determined to glorify God by trusting that He was in control. Carol wrote in 2007, in her journal, the quote by Billy Graham: “SOMEDAY YOU WILL READ THAT I’M DEAD. DON’T BELIEVE A WORD OF IT. I SHALL BE MORE ALIVE THAN I AM NOW. I WILL JUST HAVE CHANGED MY ADDRESS. I HAVE GONE INTO THE PRESENCE OF GOD.”
She met her husband, Greg, in highschool. They were young, deeply in love, and would stay together for the next 60 years. When Carol was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, at the age of 40, Greg didn’t leave her side. Never did he falter or stop caring for her. He took his vows seriously, and set an example of what true love is. Their commitment to one another is something their daughters will always admire. Even though Carol had her illness, it didn’t define her.
She was not one to complain even when she was not feeling well. Carol was a determined and strong woman who inspired those around her. She especially enjoyed shopping trips, decorating her home, and having a small dog by her side. She also found great peace sitting by the ocean to take in the fresh air and listen to the waves.
Carol was proud of her three girl’s and loved being a stay at home mom. She was always looking to take them on their next adventure. She also gave dating advice by reminding her girls to, “Be a challenge!” Raising them was the greatest joy of her life. When her grandchildren came, it rejuvenated those feelings, and she took such pride in watching them grow up. She was especially excited to meet her great granddaughter who is due to be born in August, 2024.
Carol is survived by her daughters: Shelley (Rodney), Kelly (Chris), and Jerri-Lynn; sister: Margaret (Ed);grandchildren: Brooke, Brett, Paige, Shane, Jake and Lauren; brothers-in law: Brad (Wendy), Steve (Janice), Jeff (Lisa); as well as her soon to be born great-granddaughter. She is predeceased by her mother, Evelyn; her brother, Robert and her husband Pastor Greg Loosley.
The girls would like to say a special thank you to their uncles, Brad, Steve and Jeff for being a constant support throughout the years. In addition, a huge thank you to Carol’s faithful friends, Mary Hillis (visited weekly), Betty Ducey and Pastor Tim McDonald. Your dedication will always be cherished. Also, to the staff at Embassy Hall (Shannex) including the nursing care, cooks, cleaners, laundry, maintenance, and volunteers. Their kindness will never be forgotten.
Carol’s life Bible verse was: Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Rd., Quispamsis, 506-849-2119.
