Obituary of Carol Marie McCrossin
With deep sadness we announce the passing of Carol Marie McCrossin, 82, on Saturday, May 26, 2024, at Poseidon Long Term Care Home. Mom was surrounded by the love of her family at the time of her passing.
She is survived by her children Maureen, Paul (Douglas), and Shannon (Gerald); grandchildren Damien McCrossin (Brytny), Hanako and Ryan Teranishi, and great grandchild, Layne.
Carol was predeceased by her parents Paul and Marie Hanus; husband Bill McCrossin; and children Colleen and Shawn McCrossin.
Carol was born in Regina Saskatchewan on December 25, 1941. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy.
She met Bill in Regina when he was at Depot training for the RCMP and married in 1963. Carol adapted well to being a RCMP wife, with many moves over the years. Carol was very sociable and made friends quickly wherever she was.
Starting in 1988 Carol and Bill spent the next 29 years enjoying life, between winters in Mazatlán, Mexico and summers in Winnipeg and the beautiful Spruce Sands north of Gimli.
Carol will always be remembered as an avid bridge player, voracious reader, her love of good food, devotion to her family and friends, and of course no one could forget her boisterous laugh. She embraced the developing world of technology. Carol was often seen on her various devised over the years. From the early days with her Nintendo Game Boy graduating over time to her laptop and iPad.
We love her and miss her dearly. The family is so grateful for the love and support of our good friends near and far. We greatly appreciate your many thoughtful kindnesses.
We would like to extend our warm appreciation and sincere thanks to the staff of Poseidon Long Term Care Home both on the first floor SNBU and the second floor where she spent the last few months. We are so grateful for the care and compassion they showed Carol during her residency.
Respectfully, the family will have a private service at a future date to honour Carol.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or a charity of your choice.
