Caroline Bernadette Hoffart passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday morning, November 25th at the High River Hospital. Kaye was 94 years young.
Caroline was born in Makov, Czechoslovakia and immigrated to Canada with her older sister Melyna and their parents, George & Veronica in 1930. They settled in Taber, Alberta where they started an eighty-acre farm. In the forthcoming years her sisters Barb, Veronica, Vicky, and brothers Milan and Ken were born. Kaye worked in Calgary as a housekeeper and cook for the St. Gerard’s parish priests and staff. She moved to High River in 1986. Kaye worked at the High River United Church for a time. She called High River her home until her passing.
Kaye loved the outdoors, walking, camping, fishing and enjoying time with her family. Thanksgiving and Christmas were her two favourite times of the year. Backyard BBQ’s, family get togethers and her love of the outdoors, especially the Crowsnest Pass, gave her life experiences that made her a gentle caring loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, sister , and aunt. She remembered her entire family every night by reciting all their names in her prayers.
She is predeceased by her parents, three sisters, two brothers and her husband (John Frank).
Her three sons, Garry (Bonnie), Bob (Maria). & Brian (Irene), 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews will miss her.
A Celebration of Life will be held in June/July 2024 in the Crowsnest Pass. TBA.
