STEPHENSON, Carol Anne
After a brief and courageous battle with brain cancer, we lost our Mother and best friend, Carol Stephenson, on August 5, 2024.We are thankful that her suffering is over, but ours has just begun.
Beloved wife of the late James Stephenson Jr. (1992). Loving mother and best friend to Sandra (Jason) Crowley, Ryan (Danielle) Stephenson and Julie (Neal Rousseau) Stephenson. Predeceased by her parents and their spouses Wilfred St. Jean, Erma Laliberte, Francis Laliberte, and Mary-Lou Laliberte. Sister to Gary (Debbie Taylor) St. Jean. Grandmother to Bailee (Tyson), Owen, Matt, and Ty. Great-Grandmother to Kayson (late), Kampton and Kylan. Daughter-in-law to the late Jamesand Mary Jane Stephenson. Sister-in-law to the late Bonnie Hood, Tina (survived by Brian) Stephenson, Roger (survived by Ellen) Stephenson. Special long-time friend to Linda (Cheata) Hunter, Elaine Lafond, and the late Joanne Garant, who was like a sister to her. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Special friend to Mena.
Our mother gave constantly and expected nothing in return. She was a strong and hard-working woman, who fiercely loved her family. She loved to cook for us, and always seemed to have an endless supply of household items in the back of her car, should the need arise! She knew a little something about everything and was always willing to try to solve one of our dilemmas. We all loved our daily phone calls and texts (she loved emojis), as well as our visits. We were so fortunate to have the best mother in the world!
Carol was a former owner of the Countryside Tavern in Comber and a cook for many years before retiring from the Tilbury Manor.
Special thanks to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre, as well as the HDGH palliative care unit, doctors, nurses and staff for their outstanding care and support during her stay. If you so desire, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation, Transition to Betterness (T2B), or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
In keeping with our mother’s wishes, a private family interment will take place, following cremation,
at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, on what would have been Carol & Jim’s 56th wedding anniversary. They are dancing together in heaven.
