Carol «Myra» Boudreau
1940-2024
It is with profound
sadness that we announce the death of my beloved wife, our mother,
grandmother and great-grandmother, Carol, who passed on peacefully to
her Forever Home on the 12th day of February 2024, surrounded by her
loving family. She died peacefully after an ongoing battle with
Cerebellar Degeneration.
Carol went to school
and lived her teen years in Bedford. Following her marriage to Bud in
1960, they traveled extensively. Bud was a member of the RCAF with
transfers to Ontario, the Maritime’s and Europe and Carol was always
there with their children.
She was a lifetime
learner and an avid reader; she attended St. FX University when she
was 60 years old and received a Diploma in Ministry. This gave her the
interest to get involved with Adult Learning, where she created
several programs. One such program was the Grandmothers International
Storytellers, enabling them to author their own stories. Four books
were published, and all proceeds were donated to Adult Literacy in the
Annapolis Valley. Also, she facilitated the writing of books with two
other groups, one in Scott’s Bay and assisted another group
at the Black Cultural Center in Cherry Brook, which earned her the
first Seniors Literacy & Learning Partnership Award in
2007.
Carol always had a
smile, and she was a pleasure to be with.
She was predeceased by
her parents, Ida (Schnare) Myra and Arthur Myra; sister Mary Kline;
brother, Brian and grandson, baby James Boudreau.
She is survived by her
husband, Bud, of 63 years; sons, Brad (Julie) Morden; Michael (Marie)
Canaan; Greg (Shan) Moncton; daughter, Becci (Alex Green) Montreal;
sisters, Audrey Robillard, Toronto; Shirley Callis, Halifax; paternal
half siblings, Dolly Davison, Kentville; Patsy Clothier, New Minas;
and Connie Keefe Halifax; grandchildren, Jordan, Jake, Luc, Emma,
Kayla, Chris, Meghan, Nathan, Brandon, and Maddie; great-grandchildren
Lennox and Jaxson.
In keeping with her
wishes, cremation has occurred through East Coast Memorial. There will
be no funeral service or visitation. A celebration of her life will be
held in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville on 17 March, between
01:00 and 03:00 p.m.
We want to express our
many thanks and gratitude to the staff of the Medical Assistance in
Dying (MAiD) Program and a special thanks to our family and friends
who supported Carol’s decision.
James

What God the Father considers to
be pure and genuine religion is this:
to take care of orphans and widows in their suffering
and keep oneself from being corrupted
by the world.
