It is with deep sadness that we announce our loving mother, wife and grandmother lost her courageous 24 year battle with Parkinson’s. Carol Sophia Winkiewicz (Doré), 80, of Dewittville, Quebec, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2024. Carol was born on December 19th, 1943, to Antoni Winkiewicz and Bronislawa Perkowska in Lachine, Quebec. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Jean Doré; her daughter Leanne (David Lessley); her son Danny (Maggie Latreille); grandson Antoni-Jakob; her goddaughters Dana Sylvester, Isabelle Deschamps and Krystle Lussier; she is predeceased by her sister Helen (late Bernard Szczechura). Carol was known as an incredibly kind and loving person. She loved her animals and had a passion for horses like no other. She held family extremely close and cared for her aging parents at the end of their life. She was a very supportive mother and adored her grandson. She also loved her flower gardens and took such pride in always having things in bloom. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, courage and the grace she showed throughout her diagnosis. Much love and thanks go out to the many who supported our mother during the past quarter century, her wonderful caregivers while at home, a special mention to Joy Levers and Lorraine Curran for their continued care, the phenomenal staff at the CHCH Huntingdon, The Movement & Disorders Clinic at McGill University and the local CLSC for their care. Visitations will be held, Saturday, June 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Rodrigue Montpetit & Fils Inc. Funeral Home, 170 Chateauguay Street, Huntingdon, Quebec, J0S1H0, 450-264-5331. Burial at the Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery in Montreal will take place at a later date.
