October 27, 1943 – February 14, 2024

Passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at St. Clare’s Hospital on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at the age of 80 years.
Predeceased by her parents Francis and Beatrice Hickey; her beloved husband Brendan Sr.; sisters Mary, Alice, Beth, Helen; brothers Bill and Frankie.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her two sons Brendan (Twana) and Chris; daughter Sherry-Lynn (Cec). She had a very special bond with her daughter-in-law Twana and son-in-law Cec, loved them like her own, She also leaves behind her three precious grandchildren who she cherished and loved beyond measure, Lindsey (Brad), Hailey (Logan) and Kyle. She also leaves behind her precious step grand-daughter Stephanie (Jon) and her two step great-grandchildren Jenson and Stella. Also left with precious memories are her two sisters Gen and Marg (John) as well as brother Jimmy. As well as a large number of other relatives and friends.
This has been a long journey over the past year and a half but Mom fought with every ounce of strength she could muster. She had a way of making anyone laugh with her quick and witty comments which helped her and her family through this battle. There were many people along this journey that we would like to thank including her best friend Jackie Morecombe who was there for companionship for Mom through her phone calls, hospital visits as well as Cathy and Cecil Barnes for their many visits. We would also like to give a special thanks to Dr. Hyde and Kaitlyn Hogan at the Cancer Centre as well as Dr. Brake and Paramedicine Team; Kingsway Living (Paradise); Sandra Sampson (Be Positive Blood Collection); Linda (hairdresser); Kaitlyn (nurse on 6th floor St. Clare’s) as well as 4th floor staff at St. Clare’s for your compassion shown to us in Mom’s final days. There are so many people who helped us on this journey and thanks to everyone.
Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Sunday from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Funeral Service to take place from Caul’s Chapel on Monday, February 19, 2024 at 9 a.m. with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
