The Family announces with great sadness the passing of their precious Carmen Trahan (Charette) On Saturday September 23, 2023 at the tender age of 80 years old. Born and raised in Sudbury by her loving parents Arthur Charette and Jeanne Charette (Nee Robert) who are waiting for her in heaven.
Beloved Wife of Gerry Trahan who left us in 2009. Loving Mother of Robert Trahan (Kelly) and Michel Trahan (Lynnette). Proud Grandmother of Paul, Keith, Brooke (Mathieu) and Ryan (Brooklyn). Great-Grandmother of little Willow Grace.
She leaves behind her brothers and sister with whom she was extremely close, Monique (Jim), Bob, Gilbert (partner Lucy), and Richard. Predeceased by her brother Maurice (Sandra). She had a unique and special bond with each of her siblings. Though over the years she moved to Timmins and some of her brothers would move away as well to various parts of Ontario, she remained in close contact with all of them.
She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews whom she loved so much.
She will be sadly missed by her dearest friend Claudette (Gerry).
Carmen was unlike anyone else on this earth. She loved like no other. She had a natural gift of caring for people and did so for many years working with the Canadian Red Cross as a PSW. Even during her time spent at the Golden Manor, she still found a way to take care of those around her, even though she wasn’t well herself. Everyone who knew Carmen would tell you how she loved being in the presence of others and share stories about her life and the people in it. She loved Tim Hortons coffee and Boston cream donuts. She had a gift and passion for shopping. She could eat like no other and especially enjoyed turkey dinner at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.
She was happiest when spending time with her loved ones and cherished each visit and/or phone calls with family members and special friends.
In her younger days she enjoyed cooking, baking (she made the best sugar pie), sunbathing and spending time on the water in her paddle boat.
Our world has changed forever now that Carmen is no longer with us but we find comfort knowing that she left us peacefully and is now reunited with so many that she has lost who are waiting to embrace her.
She was deeply loved and will be missed by so many.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Golden Manor for everything they did for Carmen.
Cremation has taken place as per her wishes and there will be a celebration of life at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with LESSARD-STEPHENS Funeral Home. Remembrance donations to the Community Food Bank at First Baptist Church (cheques payable to First Baptist Church) would be greatly appreciated.
