Obituary of Carmelle Marie Bégin
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Carmelle Bégin (née Poulin) on September 9, 2024, at the age of 90, at the Foyer Richelieu Welland. Beloved wife of the late Lionel Bégin. Carmelle leaves behind cherished memories with her children Diane Leduc (Richard) and Carole Royer (Réal). She will be missed by her four grandchildren, Nathalie (Stephen), René (Sarah), Mélanie (Travis), and Stephanie (Joey), and her ten great-grandchildren, Logan, Jordyn, Noah, Braxton, Tristan, Bryson, Zoe, Zachary, Finley, and Zay. Carmelle is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Hormidas and Louisa (née Lapointe), as well as her siblings.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Foyer Richelieu for their compassionate care over the past two years.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 827 East Main St., Welland, on Wednesday September 18, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. A funeral mass will commence at Église Sacré Coeur, at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in Carmelle’s memory would be greatly appreciated by the family.
