Carmel Marie Sturgeon wife of the late Ronnie Sturgeon of Smith Crossing NB passed away Thursday January 12, 2023 at Miramichi regional Hospital, at the age of 73.
Born in Renous NB, she was the daughter of the late David McEvoy Sr. and Vernice (Donovan) McEvoy. She was a custodian at Anglophone School District North (Gretna Green) and a member of the United Church.
She is survived by her companion Gilles Cusson, two daughters; Loretta Gorbett (Ronald) of Lockstead and Rhonda Vickers (Troy) of Blackville, three sons; Stephen Gillespie of Blackville, Kevin Gillespie (Bonnie) of Taber Alberta and Todd Sturgeon (Cindy) of South Esk, three sisters; Mary Hallihan (Late Adrian) of Miramichi, Paulette Riordon of Woodstock and Anita McEvoy of Woodstock, three brothers; David McEvoy (Ann) of Woodstock, Donovan McEvoy of Woodstock and Wilson McEvoy of Toronto, 10 grandchildren; Karissa, Dylan, Tyler, Ashley, Lauren, Ethan, Andrew, Tanner, Nathan and Harper. 2 great-grandchildren; Greyson and Everleigh.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was pre-deceased by two brothers Carl and Gerard and two infant sisters.
Carmel Marie Sturgeon is resting at St. Andrew’s United Church Hall, Blackville with visitation on Monday from, 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday January 17, at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew’s United Church Hall, with Reverend Charlene Maguire MacKnight officiating. Burial will be in the in the church cemetery in the spring.
