Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the families of the late Calvin Walter Gillingham announce his passing on Tuesday January 16th, 2024, at the Main River Retirement Home, in Pollard’s Pt, NL, at the age of 79 years.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 59 years; Millicent nee Pilgrim , his children; Ivan (Valerie) Gillingham, Pamela (Roger) Combdon, Dale (Colleen) Gillingham, Debbie (Charles) Tokam, Valerie (Mikael) Mantyla, Leonard (Esther) Gillingham, Remona (Kerry) Pittman, and Kirby (Mindy) Gillingham, his grandchildren; Daniel Gillingham, Victoria Matechuk, Noah Gillingham, Chantelle Combdon, Stephen Combdon, Grant Gillingham, Jenna Mackenzie, Brandon Pinksen, Blair Pinksen, Jonathan Gillingham, Melissa McKenzie, Joshua Mantyla, Jenell Mantyla, Clara Packham, Cameron Pittman, Logan Pittman, Amber Gillingham, and Isaiah Gillingham, his great grandchildren; Thomas, Gabriel, Molly, Finley, Davis, Wells, Jude, Jacob, Carter, Charlotte, Chase, Leah, Morgan, and Sophia, his siblings; Bertha (Willis) Langford, Garfield (Dora) Gillingham, Dinah (Neville) Ralph, Pierce (Yvonne) Gillingham, Ross (Christine) Gillingham, Valerie Pittman, and Barry (Sandra) Gillingham, his daughter-in-law; Lori Gillingham.
Calvin was predeceased by his parents; Bessie and Job Gillingham, his son; Morgan Gillingham, his grandson; Brian Pinksen, his brothers; Albert Gillingham and Raymond (Rose) Gillingham, his sisters; Margaret (Edgar) Chipp, Jeanette, Carrie (Claude) Combdon, and Linda Blanchard, his mother and father-in-law; Clara and Wesley Pilgrim, brother-in-law; Bruce Pittman, and predeceased by many of beloved in-laws, and relatives.
Also leaving to mourn a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family and friends.
The family will be receiving family and friends at the Sop’s Arm Pentecostal Church in Sop’s Arm, NL, on Saturday January 20th, 2024, from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm, where also the funeral service will take place from on Sunday January 21st, 2024, at 2:00 pm, with Pastor: Larry Soper officiating with the burial to follow at the family plot of the Church cemetery, in Sop’s Arm, NL.
A big thank-you to the staff of the Main River Retirement Home in Pollard’s Pt, NL, for the compassionate care of our loved one.
Flowers and or donations to the Sop’s Arm Pentecostal Church Cemetery fund would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
