Bud (Budzter) Agar Obituary
Harold “Bud” George Agar, age 80 of Stratford, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Woodstock General Hospital on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. Born in Stratford, son of the late Harold and Rita (Agar) Malovic. Bud is survived by his true love and best friend of 58 years Marion (Bannon) Agar. Proud and loving father of his three girls Julie (Joe) Boemer, Jodie (Robert) Mitchell and Jessica (Steve) DeWys. Much loved grandfather of Amanda Boemer, Darcy Boemer, Sydney (Gavin) Campbell, Shayln Mitchell (Scotty Thornton) and great grandfather of Ryder and Ayla Boemer. Bud is survived by his sister Janice (Mike) Gravelle and his brother Larry (Helene) Agar and the entire Bannon family and many nieces and nephews.
Bud drove a truck his entire working career retiring from Waste Management. In his spare time, the Budzter could be found in his garage tinkering on his race car with his good buddy Mikey while telling stories, whether you’ve heard them before or not. Marion and the family would like to sincerely thank all the wonderful nurses and staff at People Care in Tavistock and the wonderful doctors and nurses at Woodstock General Hospital. Your thoughtfulness, care and compassion will never be forgotten. Besides his parents, Bud was predeceased by his stepfather Ivan Malovic, his father and mother- in-law Patrick and Lourdes Bannon and his brother Vern Agar.
Family and friends are invited to Bud’s visitation on Monday, August 19, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, August 20 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Bud’s funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St, Stratford. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or Diabetes Canada through the funeral home. www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
