HUGHES, Bryan F – passed away unexpectedly at Markham Stouffville Hospital on Tuesday, November 12th 2024, in his 82nd year. Bryan was a beloved husband and soul mate to Valerie Hughes. Loving father, grandfather and best friend to Bryan Paul Hughes and Bryan Daniel Hughes. Affectionately known to family and friends as “The Bryans”.
Bryan’s career began at Toronto Hydro where he worked for twenty-five years, later transitioning to consulting for various organizations in human resource and contract negotiation. During these years Bryan and Val enjoyed time with their family and friends at their cottage on Lake Kipawa in Quebec.
After finally retiring in 2013 Bryan spent cherished time with Val, Bryan Paul and his young grandson splitting time between their home at Pike Lake in Mount Forest, Ontario and condo on St. Pete Beach in Florida, where he enjoyed countless books and the view from the balcony.
Visitation will take place at the England Funeral Home, 294 Main Street South, Mount Forest on Monday, November 18, 2024 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. A private burial service will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington.
Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Bryan are asked to consider Cancer Patient Services or Arthur Animal Rescue.
