June 19, 1948 – December 15, 2024.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bruce McCutcheon Cowan, who left us after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born on June 19, 1948, Bruce was the beloved son of the late Laura and Charles Cowan.
Bruce was the cherished husband of Florrie Cowan (nee Wilson) and a devoted father to Neil (Becky) and Nathan (Anne). Much loved grandfather of Mariah, Alexandra, Brynlea, William. He was a loving brother to the late Kent Cowan. He is survived by sister-in-law Jeanne Cowan, as well as a dear brother-in-law to Paul and Grace Wilson, James and Janet Wilson, Georgina Holloway and Freed Alexan, Boyd Holloway, and Chad and Evelyn Wilson.
Bruce was a proud uncle to Katie, Candace (Luke), Jess (Natasha), the late Hugo, Coleen (Bob), Robin (Mike), Wanda, Paul Allen (Alix), Janie (Tom), Mark, Andrew (Joanne) John Michael, Christine, Michael, Sharon (Mike), Isaac (Katie), Eli (Nicole), and Josh (Sam). He was also a great-uncle (gruncle) to many adored grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
A long-time employee of Bert and Son’s Cartridge, Bruce was known for his dedication and hard work. Above all, Bruce was the ultimate family man. His love for his family was unconditional, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His happiest times were those surrounded by family, especially at Peacock Point and Southampton, where he enjoyed the warm weather and the company of his loved ones.
Bruce’s legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to family and friends will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation at the McCleister Funeral Home, 495 Park Road North, Brantford on Friday, December 20, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A memorial service celebrating Bruce’s life will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. For those individuals unable to attend the memorial service, it will be live streamed through our website at mccleisterfuneralhome.ca Cremation has taken place with interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Stedman Community Hospice, Juravinski Cancer Centre or a charity of your choice in Bruce’s memory.
