Bruce Arnold Marr – 62, Truro, passed away
peacefully on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Halifax Infirmary,
QEII, Halifax. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Sherman and
Patricia (MacLean) Marr.
Bruce was self-employed as a garbage man, taking over for his
uncle, Roland Marr. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-Day Saints. Multiple times a day, he met with various
«Tim’s Crews» to catch up on the latest gossip and
try to solve the problems of the world. He enjoyed playing poker,
golfing, fishing and hunting.
Bruce is survived by his step-mother, Jean Marr, Truro;
siblings, Chris MacLean (Connie Gratto), Truro; Patricia MacLeod
(Arthur McManus), Truro; Heather (Terry) Whidden, Bible Hill; David
(Lori) MacLeod, Truro; Joey (Char) MacLeod, Truro; Phillip MacLeod,
Truro; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and
cousins.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his
paternal grandparents who raised him, John and Alice (Tattrie) Marr;
brother, Steven Marr.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service
will be held 2 p.m., Friday, January 12, 2024, President Robert Putnam
officiating. Interment in Harmony Cemetery. If so desired, donations
in Bruce’s memory to Canadian Cancer Society or Kidney
Foundation, Atlantic Chapter, are welcomed. Words of comfort, tributes
