It is with great sadness that the family has to announce Brian Thibault, 69 of Oakbank, MB has passed away on October 14, 2023 after a long fight in HSC with brain trauma.
Brian was predeceased by his parents Alymer and Phyllis Thibault, his sister Donna Thibault, his sister Yvonne Liebel, his mother & father-in-law Emil and Everyl Degelman and his son-in-law Patrick Gibbs.
Brian leaves to mourn his wife Gail, daughter Shauna (Trevor), son Cory (Simone), his grandkids Poppy, Charlie and Casey, his sister & brother in-laws,nieces and best friend of 40 years, Elso Kok.
Brian was born in Lestock, SK October 15, 1953. He was raised in Punnishy, SK and in 1971 he married Gail and started their family.
Brian worked 30+ years at CN moving up the ranks and moved his family to Manitoba in 1984. He had many adventures, travels and made many lifelong friends at CN. He couldn’t have asked for better friends always watching out for each other’s families.
Brian had many hobbies his favorite was wheeling and dealing on cars, always looking for the next sports car or truck much to Gail’s resistance he almost always got what he was looking for. He enjoyed wood working, gardening, fishing, boating, camping and many other activities.
The family would like to thank the team of doctors, nurses and aids at HSC for the care and the compassion in the end. Brian spent 12 weeks with them and I’m sure they tried their hardest for him and for Gail as she sat with him everyday of those 12 weeks. They saw her worry, they saw her cry and she fought hard for him and they all eventually would listen to her as she knew best for Brian. We would also like to thank the paramedics for their quick response on that day and got him to HSC as fast as possible.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday October 23, 2023 at 1:30pm at Seasons Funeral Chapel, 576 Balsam Crescent, OakBank, Manitoba.
