With heavy hearts, we
announce the passing of Brenda Gayle Daniels, known for her bravery,
kindness, and determination. Brenda passed away as she wished in her
home on November 26, 2024, at the age of 70. Born on August 26, 1954,
in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Brenda will be remembered for the warmth,
generosity, and undeniably loving spirit she brought into this
world.
Brenda was a
trailblazer and a true inspiration. She returned to school later in
life to graduate and went on to complete her Red Seal Certification,
becoming the first certified female plumber in Nova Scotia. She was a
pioneer in advancing women in trades and technology, receiving the
prestigious Nova Scotia Minister’s Award of Excellence for
her program development in Techsploration, a program that has impacted
countless lives.
Brenda was not only a
champion for women in trades but also an activist for human rights and
a dedicated volunteer, particularly supporting vulnerable women and
children in her community. In the last part of her career, she took
immense pride in leading and mentoring others to achieve certification
in skilled trades.
Outside of her career,
Brenda found joy in many aspects of life. She was an avid and
competitive billiards player, a devoted dog lover, and a passionate
traveler who especially enjoyed sunny beach destinations. Her
compassion, determination, and boundless energy left a lasting mark on
everyone she met.
She is lovingly
remembered by her spouse, Douglas Graham; her daughter, Tanya Daniels;
her sister, Heather Grandy; her dearest friend, Rene Keddy; and many
other cherished relatives and friends around the world. Brenda is now
reunited in peace with her beloved son, Timothy Daniels; her mother,
Helen Sperry; her father, Robert Zinck; and countless loved ones she
held dear throughout her life.
Family and friends
were the center of Brenda’s world, and her legacy of love
and strength will live on through all who were fortunate to know
her.
A celebration of
Brenda’s life will be held at a later date at her cherished
place in Green Bay, NS. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests
donations be made to The Tim Daniels Scholarship Fund, or any other
charity that represent vulnerable populations in her
memory.
Brenda’s presence will
be deeply missed, but her spirit will remain forever in our hearts.
May she rest in peace.
