Obituary
It is with great sadness and complete devastation that the family of Brandon Parrott of Heart’s Content announce his sudden passing on March 9, 2024, at the age of 31 years.
Leaving to mourn with shattered hearts that will never heal are his parents Tony and Marlene Parrott (nee Andrews); sister Alayna; brother-in-law Brad Harnum; niece Blythe; and nephew Grier – all of whom he loved dearly. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a large circle of friends; both near and far. Last but certainly not least – his beloved dog, Willow.
To know him, was to love him. Brandon had a love for life and lived it to the fullest. Ever since childhood his infectious personality made him friends anywhere he went. He would rarely be found without a smile on his face.
An honour roll student and all-star athlete throughout his school years, there wasn’t a sport he didn’t play or enjoy and few he wasn’t good at. In 2010, his graduating year, he won Provincial Male Athlete of the Year; all because of the number of sporting events he attended, and the least number of academic days he missed. He went on to post-secondary to complete a degree in Kinesiology from MUN, followed by a diploma in Safety Engineering from CNA.
A true outdoorsman, not a day went by that he did not do something he loved. During his time off you could find Brandon hunting, fishing, hiking, biking, skiing, skidooing, travelling, etc. he found enjoyment in every season. We could all take a lesson on how to live from him.
Cremation and a small family service to take place. A celebration of life to be planned with date to be announced – as Brandon would want us to come together to celebrate his life, not mourn it, and share a story or two of all the memories we had with him.
To keep Brandon’s memory alive, his family has decided to create a scholarship fund at Carbonear Collegiate in his honour. Donations can be made to: brandonccfund@gmail.com
