Bradley Hofer Obituary
Bradley was the fourth of six children born to Gordon and Sarah Hofer. He was born and raised in Woodland Colony and left when he was 17 years old. He explored his passions by trying his hand at various jobs. For many years, he was a welder, and also worked in the oil field. He loved learning new skills. His last job was at Shurgro Farms, where he absolutely loved mechanical and field work and was looking forward to getting his Class One driver’s license.
He married his best friend Amanda on August 18, 2018, and they welcomed their son Braydan in September 2019. On January 27, 2020, when Braydan was only four months old, Bradley was diagnosed with brain cancer and had to undergo brain surgery. This had a huge impact on his and Amanda’s life, as this experience led them both to accept Jesus as their Saviour and get baptized. By God’s grace, Bradley went into remission for two years, during which time they welcomed their first daughter Danielle (aka Elle) in August 2021. In April of 2023, he had his second brain surgery, which he recovered well from. Six months later, he was hospitalized, learned that the tumor was back, and a third surgery wasn’t an option. God answered our prayers, and he outlived the doctor’s expectations. They welcomed another daughter, Mya Hope, on November 12, 2023.
Bradley was a fighter, but eventually the cancer took a hold on him and didn’t let go. Even on his bad days, he was always more concerned about his children’s well-being rather than his own. The past year he spent lots of time singing with his son Braydan. One song he kept singing over and over was “Angel band”.
Bradley enjoyed the outdoors: building bonfires, cooking, mowing grass and watching orange sunsets. He especially loved sports: hockey, football, hunting, fishing, and golfing.
Bradley leaves to cherish his memory with broken hearts: his wife of 6 years, Amanda, and their three children: Braydan, Danielle and Mya. his parents: Gordon and Sarah, his brothers, sisters and their families: sister Chantal (Kevin) – Kayla, Jolene, Judah, Serena, brother Jason (Anna-Marie) – Jayce, Landon, sister Michelle (Justin) – Logan, Alexa, Chloe, brother Patrick (Rochelle) – Will, Sarah, and Kaitlyn. Mother-in-law Margaret Brother-in-laws; Garett (Heidi), Craig (Ricarda) – Brie, as well as his extended family and many friends.
He is predeceased by his father-in-law Gary, his aunt Shirley, his nephew John, and his grandparents.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. (2 Timothy 4:7)
My strongest trials now are past, my triumph is begun!
O come angel band, come and around me stand.
Oh bear me away on your snowy wings to my immortal home.
Bradley, I will forever miss your loving and tender presence in my life. Seeing your blue eyes and bright warm smile, hearing your voice, watching you love our children and the special bond you had with each of them, is something I will always treasure. I was always amazed at what a wonderful dad you were! You set such a wonderful example by your hard-working nature, close family ties and especially your love for Jesus. While it’s so hard to let you go, it was time and Jesus called you home. – Amanda
It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed. (Deuteronomy 31:8)
Our family would love to thank all the wonderful people God has placed in our life. The last year was hard, but every one of you made it easier through your countless prayers, love and support, sending of text messages, bringing food, offering to watch our children, or simply bringing a Timmy’s. We are especially grateful for those who took the time to come for a visit. It sure brightened up Bradley’s day to hear your voices. We appreciate everything, and we are so grateful for every one of you.
