Boris Devcic Obituary
Boris Devcic, a loving family man, husband, father, father in-law and grandfather passed away peacefully at the Golden District Hospital on February 25th, 2024 at the age of 79.
He will be remembered and sadly missed by his loving wife of 57 years Natasha Devcic, sister Zora Baric of Venezuela, sister Tonka Saric of Croatia, son Mario (Susan) Devcic, son Mate (Heather) Devcic, son Tomislav Devcic and Grandchildren Katia Russell, Isabel Devcic, Anabel Devcic, Lily Devcic, Matea Devcic, Conner Passmore & Ethan Passmore.
He is predeceased by his Mother Matija Pavicic, Father Mate Devcic, Brothers Mirko Devcic and Srecko Devcic.
Boris was born in Przunac, Croatia on January 8th, 1945. Natasha and Boris have known eachother since they were 10 years old. They were married in 1969 and started a family together. In 1972 they immigrated to Canada and settled in Calgary, Alberta. Although they were in a new country, they found a community of Croatians that made them feel at home. Boris owned and operated a successful painting business, was actively involved with The Calgary Croatian Soccer club for many years and had a deep love for his country. He was a simple man, enjoyed fine wine and seafood especially crab legs. His generosity and kind heartedness showed wherever he went. He was the light of his family’s life and will be greatly missed.
