It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear sister and friend, Bobby Beaulieu peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital on December 27 at the age of 77.
Bobby will be greatly missed by her cats; Callie and Bomber; her sister Linda (Jack) Ostoforoff; her niece Jaclin and her best friends Pat Sadowy and Shirley Richardson.
Bobby was born in Pine Falls, Manitoba on May 21,1946 to Gilbert and Irene Beaulieu. She was the oldest of four children. After high school she moved to Winnipeg, completed a business course in accounting and held a variety of jobs. She also worked as a swimming and lifeguard instructor at various pools including the new Pan-Am Pool when it opened in 1967. After earning her teaching credentials at the University of Manitoba she taught in Moose Lake and Thompson. She then moved to Winnipeg, working for The Province of Manitoba: Workplace Safety and Health division and earning a Masters degree from the University of Manitoba. When illness forced her to leave her full-time job, she taught some evening courses in English as a Second Language. Eventually chronic illness made her unable to work.
Bobby had a variety of interests. She was most avidly interested in baseball, attending Goldeyes’ games for many years and watching the Toronto Blue Jays and many other teams on television. She also enjoyed the Winnipeg Jets and the Toronto Raptors. She was especially proud of her Metis heritage, and enjoyed doing research about her ancestors. Her greatest passion was reserved for her cats, caring for several throughout the years.
In accordance with her wishes there will be no funeral and cremation has taken place. To honor her memory, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
