Died peacefully in the early morning hours of August 9th, 2024, Blair, as she was known and loved, was the daughter of Stewart Allan (2002) and Nancy Allan (1999), and dearest older sister to Barbara Allan (Ronald Klapowich, 2012) and Brooke Allan (Dave George). Joyful Aunt to Bryn Klapowich (former spouse Danielle), Meredith Klapowich (Anton), Tobin George (Kristin) and Taylor George (Ashley) and very special Great-Aunt to Evan, Beatrice and Theodora.
A life partner to Paul Scragg (2009) for many decades, Blair was the happy member of an extended family including Paul’s daughter Debbie Danter (Wayne), and his son Jim Scragg (Linda), and was a proud {Grandma Blair’ to six grandchildren: Matthew, Patrick and Benjamin Danter, and Katie, Andrew (2023) and Meghan Scragg.
Over the course of her life, Blair became a Big Sister and was so privileged to have met and nurtured a very special relationship with her Little Sister, Lauren LaButte. Lauren played such an important role in Blair’s life and we are so thankful for their loving bond.
Blair was born in Windsor, but ultimately travelled all over the globe, most recently returning home from Iceland, Greenland, Norway and Scotland with her travel buddy and very good friend Andy Dobbie. Travel was her inspiration, hobby and greatest passion. Her trips, and her tales, were simply epic.
As a teacher employed with the GECDSB, Blair fostered genuine relationships with many generations of students and staff members alike, with elementary-level teaching placements spanning across Windsor at Forest Glade Public School, Hetherington Public School and Dougall Public School.
Blair lived a life full of adventure and laughter. She grew up figure skating, took up skiing in young adulthood, and also spent many years travelling throughout Canada and the United States in her camper with Paul. She was powered by discovery, and had endless energy and verve.
A social butterfly in the truest sense of the term, Blair was always the life of the party – ready to mingle with a genuine smile and conversation-starter question. She has created a beautiful community of friends who will miss her dearly. Thank you all for your incredible camaraderie and love.
Blair, you were truly one of a kind. We will remember you with immense happiness and joy in our hearts.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Blair’s Life will be held Saturday, September 14th from 1-4pm, with reflections on her life at 3 pm. Signature Tributes Event Centre, 3310 Dougall Ave. (519-969-5841).
