William James ‘Billy’ Beresford, formerly of Waterloo, passed away at Caressant Care, Listowel, on Saturday, May 27, 2023, in his 86th year.
Billy wanted it known that he died as a result of being stubborn, refusing to follow doctors’ orders and raising hell for more than eight decades. He was always so giving, witty, and mischievous. His favourite sayings were, “If I knew I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself” and “right on”.
Forever leaving a big hole in our hearts and to mourn are his family. Father of Sharon Smith of Orillia, Susan & Bruce Rank of New Hamburg, and Maureen & John Costa of Cambridge. Grandfather of Wade, Amanda, Jody, Jimmy, and Serina. Great-grandfather of Mikayla, Molly, Guiliana, Hudson, Jordyn
Predeceased by his sister Ethel Charlebois, brother Eric Beresford, son-in-law Wayne Hatton, and by his children’s mother, Eileen (Dubreuil) Beresford.
A special thank you to the staff of Caressant Care, Listowel who cared for Billy the last two years.
