Bill Gibbons Obituary
William John Gibbons, age 73, of Benmiller and formerly of Kitchener passed away peacefully at Huron Hospice on May 18, 2024. Born in Kitchener, May 11, 1951, son of the late Walter and Marjorie (Waters) Gibbons.
Bill is survived by his wife Pauline (Brickman), son Steven, granddaughters Alyssa Anderson, Hanna Willsteed and Hanna’s mother Kristi Willsteed. Brother of Floyd Gibbons (Dorothy), Ann Spall (Brian), Jim Gibbons. Brother-in-law to Bruce Brickman (Colleen deceased), Debbie Reece (Paul), Janice Murray (Edwyn). He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Bill enjoyed a lifelong career as a transport driver. He had a passion for trains, the CFL, Blues and Rock music, his motorcycle and his 1972 Ford pick up. He traveled extensively with Pauline in Canada and abroad. Bill knew how to live life.
Family and friends are invited to the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford for visitation on Wednesday, May 22, from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday, May 23, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow. Interment at 2nd St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Wartburg, following the reception. Memorial donations in Bill’s memory may be made to Huron Hospice, 2nd St. John’s Lutheran Church or the Canadian Cancer Society. www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
