Bill Brown Obituary
William Joseph Brown, age 81, of Stratford, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth. Born in Stratford, son of the late Frank and Irene (Longeway) Brown. Proud and much-loved father of Elizabeth (Gord) Heimpel and Daniel Brown (Rebecca Barker). Grandfather of Bailey (Dario), Cody (Riley) and Megan (Brad). Bill will be remembered by his siblings Paul (Diana) Brown and Thomas Brown.
Bill was a long-time employee of Gaffney Construction before retirement. Dad was a quiet man. He enjoyed family chats on the porch, visits from his children and grandchildren and get togethers. He was an avid sports enthusiast enjoying golf, baseball and hockey. He was a fantastic father, grandfather and brother who will be genuinely missed by all who knew him. Bill’s family would like to sincerely thank the wonderful palliative care services team from HCSS that cared for him and to the wonderful doctors, nurses and volunteers of Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth for the care and compassion Dad received. Your thoughtfulness will not be forgotten
Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by his brother Donald Brown and his twin sisters Mary and Nancy Brown in infancy. Cremation has taken place. It was his wish to be remembered but not publicly celebrated, and so there will be no formal visitation or funeral service held. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of one’s choice through the W. G.
