A celebration of Bessie’s life will be held at the Elmira Legion, 11 First St. E., on Saturday, June 1, 2024 with a memorial service at 1 p.m. followed by refreshments and visitation until 4 p.m.

Passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at The Village at University Gates, Waterloo at the age of 99 years.
Beloved wife of the late Don McAllister (2018). Dear mother of Sharon Farr of Elmira, and Ronald McAllister of Mabel Lake, B.C. Loving grandmother of Charlene Pringle of Elmira, Darren and Jillian Farr of Barrie. Great-grandmother of Derek Boyce and Kelsea Book; Brayden, Charlotte, Emilie and Spenser Farr and great-great-grandmother of Jacob Pardy, Teagan, Micah and Kytann Boyce, Caleb Book, Izabelle Ward, and Kynslee Ward.
Predeceased by her parents Freeman and Helen Howes, son-in-law Russell Farr, siblings Dorothy Ray, Jean Elliott, Margaret Wagar and Kenneth Howes.
Bessie was awarded a life membership to the Ladies Auxiliary for outstanding and continuous service. She had a longtime involvement in the Department of National Defence as the Administrator to the Base Commander in Cold Lake, Alberta.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. A special thank you to the staff at St. Jacobs Place Retirement and The Village at University Gates (Matthews) for their exceptional care of Bessie and her family.
In her memory, donations to the Poppy Fund, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 469 would be appreciated and may be made through the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.
