It is with sadness that we announce the
passing of Bernedette Moffatt-Reid, 71,
of Joggins, NS. Bernedette passed away at the QEII Health Sciences
Centre, Halifax, NS, on Sunday, November 5, 2023.
Bernedette was born in Halifax, NS, she
was a daughter of the late Felix and Sadie (Scopie)
LaForest.
Bernedette loved her family, especially
her grand and great grandchildren. She loved to knit and
sew, and her family enjoyed many a homemade Christmas gift.
She was an amazing cook, especially baking, and her goods were enjoyed
by many in the community.
She will be sadly missed by her husband
Roy «Pete» Reid, Joggins; son Paul Moffatt (Carolyn),
Dartmouth, NS; grandson Aaron Beal, Windsor, NS; Pete’s daughters
Doreen Reid, Amherst, and Ann Theal, Amherst, and their
children Ryan and Scott Reid, Trevor, Ashley, and Shane Theal; as well
as several great-grandchildren; siblings Richard (Becky), Betty
LaForest (Blaine), and Phyllis (Phillip) Taylor; brother in law Trent
Davis, Stewiacke, NS; nephew Gregory and niece Jolene.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased
by Pete’s son, Peter Reid; sister Janette Davis and niece
Crystal.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church
St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where cremation has taken place. A
graveside service will take place in the St. Bernard Roman Catholic
Church Parish Cemetery, Enfield, NS at a later date.
Bernedette’s family wants to extend
heartfelt thanks to the VON and to the Doctors and Nurses at the QEII
Hospital.
