Benjamin Littleleaf Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved family member Benjamin Littleleaf of the Piikani Nation. Ben was born on December 5, 1988 at the Pincher Creek Hospital to his late mother Gloria Littleleaf and father Bruce Grey. He passed away the evening of July 16, 2024 in Calgary, Alberta.
Ben is survived by his 4 beautiful daughters: Erin, Jaslene, Akilyah and Brealynn, whom all were his pride and joy and he loved and adored so much. He is also survived by the Littleleaf matriarch Margery Littleleaf (Ross Wiseman), uncle Conrad (Sharon) Littleleaf, his cousin/sister Alison Heavenfire (JR Smalllegs) of the Tsuut’ina Nation, his cousin Jill Littleleaf, who were a big support to him throughout his life. Also, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews throughout Southern Alberta and Montana.
Ben is predeceased by his mother Gloria Littleleaf, grandmother Esther Littleleaf, uncle Richie Littleleaf, uncle Wallace Littleleaf and cousin Caralee Heavenfire, Erin’s mother Dalean Manybears, who all had a big part in his life and he greatly missed them all as they left to the spirit world.
Benjamin grew up in Brocket and Sarcee. He was always with his grandma Esther and she greatly loved and protected him and taught him the catholic and traditional ways of life. He was baptized as a baby at the St. Pauls Church in Brocket, Alberta and his god parents were Joe and Theresa Pard.
Ben was a very cute, handsome, polite, friendly little boy who always had a taste of class and unique style in his fashion and learned to appreciate music and vehicles from his uncle Richie. When in Elementary and Junior High School, many teachers notice his high intelligence and he received many honorary awards in education. As he grew up, he gained interest in the trades and attended training and worked in carpentry and welding for many years.
Ben had many family and friends that he would travel and visit and always wore his heart on his sleeve and would care or help as much as he could when others needed it. He loved to have fun, some would say too much fun and was known to be crazy at times. He had a great sense of humor, loved to joke around and laugh with his loved ones and friends. One of his skills was that he always liked to volunteer for or put to the test was cooking up a good meal for others to enjoy. Benjamin will be greatly missed to all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to all those who have supported us through this difficult time and for all the donations, pictures, songs, prayers, cooks, ribbon makers, and others.
