Ben Tobin
A special heart quit beating – Ben passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Red River Place with Fran at his side. He is now reunited with his Mom, Mary Tobin and his brother Moses, both of whom he spoke of lovingly every day.
He is survived by his wife Fran, sisters Ella and Josephine and sister-in-law Margaret, brother-in-law Gary (Nadine), sisters-in-law Judy (Robert) and Helen. He leaves many nieces, nephews and their families, all of whom held a very special place in his heart.
Ben enjoyed his working years with Manitoba Hydro and was always happy to chat and reminisce about Hydro days. He could fix most things, though it may have taken a while, was interested in sports, whether watching or participating, enjoyed travelling, and loved his time in the bush cutting and splitting (by hand) the winter’s wood supply.
Ben was a loving, kind and gentle person which endeared him to both young and old. We will miss his storytelling.
Thank you to the staff at the Transitional Care Unit, Selkirk and Red River Place for the excellent care and kindness extended to Ben over the past three months.
Service will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB.
