With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother and nana, Beatrice Priscilla Grace Stone (Penney), 87, of Portugal Cove-St. Phillips on June 18, 2023.
Beatrice was born on May 26, 1936, to Hayward and Thelma (Langor) Penney of Random Island Trinity Bay.
Predeceased by her husband, Harvey V. Stone.
She is survived by her son Rodney Stone of Portugal Cove-St. Phillips and daughter Nancy Hollman (Gary) of Belleville, ON. Surviving siblings Arthur Penney of Elliot Lake, ON, Mary Roach of Mount Pearl, NL, Dorothy Butt of Scarborough, ON and Calvin Penney of London, ON.
Leaving to mourn are her grandchildren, Kasey Stone (Nathan), Jarod Stone, Caitlyn Hollman (Timothy) and Erica Hollman, as well as her great-grandson Cyrus. Also left to mourn are her special daughter-in-law Cynthia Greenland, close personal friend Dustin Churchill as well as the numerous family and friends who have been affected by our loss.
Special mention to Collingwood Downs Retirement Residence in Clarke’s Beach where she spent her last few weeks.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 22, 2023, from 7pm to 9pm at Vardy’s Funeral Home in Hickman’s Harbour. Service will take place on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 2pm. Internment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation in her memory.
