BARTON HENRY MACLEAN
April 1, 1942 – September 13, 2024
After surviving a severe stroke on Nov. 24, 2022, Barton MacLean passed away at the J.M. Parrot Centre, Napanee on September 13, 2024 at the age 82.
Barton was loving husband to Barbara Van der Vaart for 57 years, father to John, Kevin (Jo-Ann) and Andrea MacLean (Paul Henderson), grandfather to Alanna and Ryan, Adrianna and Taylor (Taylor van Koughnet), great grandfather to Kinsley and Hank. He was brother to Joyce (late Ed Smith) and late Bruce (Nancy).
In partnership with Kevin, Barton and Barbara operate Ripplebrook Farm. Barton was very involved with farm organizations, both locally and provincially and was inducted into the Quinte Agricultural Wall of Fame in 2022. Barton shared his hobby of tractor pulling with John, Andrea and Ryan. The MacLean family wishes to thank the staff at the Parrott Centre for their excellent and compassionate care of Barton for the last 13 months.
Visitation will be held at the Wartman Funeral Home – Napanee on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Masonic Service will take place on Tuesday, September 17 at 6:30 pm. Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday September 18, 2024 at 11 am at the Wartman Funeral Home – Napanee. For those who are not able to attend the service in person, you can join us by Zoom, the link can be found under the service details on Barton’s memorial page on the funeral home website. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
