Unexpectedly, after a lengthy illness, on Thursday, March 28, 2024 in his eighty-second year. Loving and devoted husband of Maria Cabral for over thirty years. Affectionate and caring father and father-in-law of Laura Kovshoff and Jack Segal, Dr. Hanna Kovshoff and Jonathan Hill. Proud Zaidie of Mark (Megan), Eric, Dara, Kyle (Lee-Anne), Charlotte, and Noah. Dear brother and brother-in-law of the late Michael and the late Marina Kovshoff; and brother-in-law of Gorete Cabral, Tony and Alana Cabral. Barry will be missed by his nieces, nephews, family, friends, and all those who knew and loved him. Special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses, and Staff at the Jewish General Hospital Emergency Department, and from the Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital (Chomedey), Hôpital Marie-Clarac, and from Centre d’hébergement Notre-Dame-de-la-Merci.
Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Monday, April 1 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Shomrim Laboker Congregation Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at his home, 1500 rue Todd #404, Monday following burial until 4:00 p.m., and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Donations in Barry’s memory may be made to the the Jewish General Hospital Foundation: (514) 340-8251 or click here.
