With heavy hearts, our family would like to announce the passing of Barbara Clark (nee Lamb), of Cochrane, AB, Friday, July 28, 2023 at the age of 94 years young.
Barbara was a wonderful wife to Myrel, a loving mother to Sue (Will), and Ron (Jessica), and an incredible grandmother to Jennifer and Brittany.
Barbara had humble beginnings in Magrath, AB, moving at age sixteen to Calgary, AB, to purse her dreams.
After receiving her high school diploma, she taught piano, worked at Hudson’s Bay, and Pacific Petroleum, and met and married her husband, Myrel.
After raising her children, and still teaching piano, she began a career at the University of Calgary, eventually holding the position of Assistant to the Chancellor and Executive Office of the Senate.
Mom loved her career, family, and friends. She was involved in many social groups and activities throughout her life, including being awarded “Woman of the Year” in Beta Sigma Phi, an organization she belonged to for many years.
Barbara and Myrel loved to travel and went on many trips throughout her life. In their senior years, they travelled to Victoria, BC each April and October. Walking, exploring, and of course having coffee at Murchie’s.
Barbara’s family and friends will miss her terribly. She was a loving, kind person who touched everyone she met. A beautiful soul whose memory will be forever cherished.
In living memory of Barbara Helen Clark, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB T3G 2T3, Telephone: 403-241-0044.
