Barbara Veraldi Obituary
With heavy hearts we announced the passing of Barbara Ann Veraldi. Barbara was a devoted wife to Peter T. Veraldi and much-loved mother of Peter J Veraldi, Jamie Veraldi (Ian Kinnear), Gregory Veraldi and Vicki O Veraldi (deceased). She was also a loving and generous grandmother to Katie, Lindsay and Maxine as well as Great Grandmother to Dyllan, Blake, Summer and Easton.
Barbara was the backbone of her family, the life and soul to her children and a strong influence in the lives of her extended family. If you were in Barbara’s life you she could always be counted on to be your strongest supporter whether you were in need of a cup of coffee, some laughter, a helping hand, some sage advice or just a kick in the pants.
Barbara was very much a people person with such a natural affinity for connecting with others that she never met a stranger she couldn’t have a long, comfortable conversation with. She spent her life in North Bay working as a cashier well into her 70’s only retiring the day she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. For 15 years this amazingly strong, resilient woman said “Not today”, determined to live her life to the fullest and enjoying her not so secret passion of going off on many adventures to the Bingo Hall and Casino with her 5 Ya-Ya sisters in crime.
On January 15th 2024 Barbara left us to be with her beloved daughter Vicki who left us far too soon. In keeping with Barbara’s wishes, there will be no funeral service but instead her life will be privately mourned and celebrated in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to send out a special thank you to Dr Jinnah as well as to all the wonderful staff of the Nipissing Serenity Hospice for the compassionate care they provided Barbara and for making it possible for us to focus our energy on giving her all of the love and attention she well deserved.
