Barbara Gale Henry
Barbara Gale Henry, born on October 24, 1953. Peacefully departed on March 14, 2023. Saddened to announce the peaceful passing of a Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. Barbara was also a Traditional Faith keeper of the Cayuga Ball-Deer Clan and at the Cayuga Longhouse.
Barbara was predeceased by Parents: Isabel & Russell Maracle. Siblings: Stanley, Glen, Dwayne, Irving, Lorne, Melvin, Allen, Warren, Caroline, and Linda. Barbara is also Survived by Children Carole, and Keith II “Jay” and (Lisa). She will be loved and missed by Grandchildren: Gerrad, Austin, Chelsea, Kendal, Keira, Dallas, and Great-Grandchild Kai. Also Survived by Siblings Kenneth, Carson, Janace, Steve, Beverly, Deborah, Kevin, Ronald, Brian, and Roger.
Barbara lived and studied for several years in Thunder Bay at the Lakehead University. She was passionate about Learning, Researching, and Teaching which she loved even more to share with her Children & Grandchildren. Barbara was a Health Care Aid at the Lady Wellington Nursing Home, Iroquois Lodge, and Volunteered at the Six Nations Community Health Services for many years. Barbara also kept busy being an Artist and Jewellery Maker which was her passion.
Our family will also like to give a Special Appreciation to the St Joseph’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for all their help with the needs of our Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother Barbara.
There will be a Viewing and Visitation held at her home, 37 Sunrise court – Unit 32 after 6pm Wednesday March 15, 2023. A Funeral Service & Burial will be held at the Lower Cayuga Longhouse on Thursday March 16, 2023, at 11am. Arrangements by Styres Funeral Home, Ohsweken. www.rhbanderson.com
