Barbara Thom Obituary
A lifelong resident of Thamesford, Barb passed away at the age of 95 with her family at her side on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Victoria Hospital in London. Predeceased in 1997 by her husband and best friend, William (Bill) Thom. Dearly loved mother of Greg Thom (Lorraine), Cindy Armitage (Brian) and Jeff Thom (Rita). Cherished grandmother of Curtis (Sandra), Jay (Steven), Scott (Katelyn), and Ashley and great- grandmother of 8. Predeceased by her parents, Frank and Emma Newton, her brother Fred (Irene) Newton and sisters Peggy (Henry) Serre and Yvonne (Bonnie) Little. Barb was a beauty contestant in her youth, then worked at the former IGA in Thamesford and later in the bookstore of Fanshawe College in London until retirement. She and Bill spent many years enjoying their cottage alongside great friends and family in Long Point.
In keeping with mom’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
A private family gathering will be held in her honour.
