Baize, as she was referred to passed away peacefully in her sleep. She will be reunited with her parents and the many dogs and horses that filled her life with joy.
Left behind to mourn, are her husband of 61 years – Harry, her children Sheryl (Don), Graeme and Leslie. Grandchildren Tori, Ryder, Luke and Alena. Her sister, Georgie, nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.
Baizette was a busy stay at home mom, getting up to milk the cow before breakfast. She kept her home and children in line, children that were born at home, no less.
She could often be seen pulling up to the arena with the horse trailer with hockey bags for Graeme and figure skates for Sheryl on the way to the stable for riding lessons for Leslie.
Once school let out summers were filled with swimming, hiking and long long bike rides, usually with multiple children in tow.
Harry and the kids were always healthy as Baizette was an amazing cook and baker – coming up with the yummiest of meals.
Active in the dog show circuit once the kids left home, kept her busy and seeing the countryside. Multiple road trips with old friends in their fifth wheel also filled her retirement.
A casual Celebration of Life will be held September 7th, 2024, at 1112 Viewtop Road in Duncan, BC from 1pm to 4 pm. Please bring any pictures and stories you might have.
The family would like to thank everyone that cared for Baizette at Nanaimo Senior Centre. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Alzheimer.ca in Baizette’s name would b appreciated.
