Helen “Audrey” Middleton (nee Jervis) surrounded by her loving family passed away peacefully at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital, Goderich on February 20th, 2024.
Audrey was born on May 8th, 1930, the first child of Adell and Wilfred Jervis of Clinton.
Loving mother of Jim and Peggy, Marnie and Grant Hoflinger, Paul and Vicki, Cindy Taylor, Fred and Donna, Shelley and Dan Merner. Cherished Grandmother of Derek, Natalie, Stacey, Jamie, Ashley, Paul, Tim, Katelyn (Angel Kate), Devon, Shawn and Kelsey. Beloved Great Grandmother to 15 and counting great grandchildren. Loved by brother Kelvin Jervis, Special Friend Dale Carr. Sister-in-law to Marie Middleton.
Also loved and missed by numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by husband Don Middleton (2000), cherished granddaughter Katelyn Merner (2013) and son-in-law Steve Taylor (2022). Brothers and Sisters-in-laws; Elizabeth and Ted Mullens, Marg and Bill Counter, Kay and Bob Campbell, Ted and Emily, Barb and Andy Grindley and Dave Middleton.
In her teenage years Audrey was a Farmerette, where she learned valuable lessons to carry onto the farm when she married her dashing husband, Don.
Audrey’s positive outlook was easily recognized by anyone who had the opportunity to sit and chat with her. Consistently ensuring that individual felt like the most important person in the room, remembering specific details of their life.
Her creativity shined throughout her art in fashion and design as she was an avid and talented seamstress. Audrey was always open to learning new skills and technology, being sure she kept up with all her children and grandchildren, usually the first to make a witty comment on social media. Always up to date on the news and current affairs with a young point of view. At all times, up for a challenge or an excursion.
The matriarch of our family has earned her angel wings and will be forever missed.
The family wishes to extend a special ‘thank you’ to all the staff at Goderich Place Retirement, Dr. Loretta Seevaratnam and AMGH staff for their care and compassion.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Falconer Funeral Homes – Clinton, on Saturday April 13, 2024, at 11 a.m. To be followed by a Celebration of Life to be held at the Huron Fish & Game Club, 278 Alma Street, Clinton from 2- 6 p.m.
Interment of Ashes at Bayfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Blyth Festival (www.blythfestival.com 519-523-9300), Clinton Public Hospital, Huron Hospice or charity of one’s choice.
