LEWIS, Audrey Helen (nee Lacey)
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mom on February 23rd, 2024 at Centennial Place after living with Alzheimer’s for many years. Mom will be reunited with her beloved husband William “Bill” Lewis (d. 2004). Born November 26th, 1925 to Albert and Annie Lacey and was the last surviving sibling of the Lacey 8. She will join Bert (Madeline), Dolly (Roy), Aleck (Dorothy), Marjorie (Jack), Peggy (Art), Bob and Ben (June).
Mom was a wonderful and very caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Mom is survived by her 4 children Brenda Grainger (Rick), Ron (Mary Lynn), Gord (Jan) and Christine Chapman (Dave). Grandma to 11 grandchildren: Nicole Sibbett (Devon), Erin Whalen (Jesse), Patrick Lewis (Julie), Grant Lewis, Ryan Lewis (Chiarina), Brendan Lewis (Alanah), Allison MacNicol (Cam), Kyle Lewis, Lyndsay Caine (Jeff), Alexandra Chapman (Arthur), Mitchell Chapman (Thakshini). Great Grandma to 14: Hayden, Ava, Zoey, the late baby Jackson (2017) Sibbett; Piper and Presley Whalen; Henry Lewis; Marion and Gordon MacNicol; Jack and Summer Caine; Adelyn, Alton and August Cannell.
Mom was a wonderful mother and homemaker who loved to bake and embroider in her spare time. She loved to watch many sports and spent lots of time at ball parks and hockey arenas. She was a long-time member of All Saints’ Anglican Church and ACW Member and she was known as “The Big Dipper” when they were making Easter eggs.
Our family would like to thank the very dedicated and caring staff at Centennial Place who took such good care of mom for 9 years. We were so fortunate that mom maintained her sweet personality throughout her struggle with Alzheimer’s. She was always happy to see us. We will cherish all the fun memories and we will miss her so much. Love you to the moon and back. Rest in Peace Mom. Until we meet again.
