Audrey Darlene
«Dar» Matthews, age 58, of Amherst, NS,
comfortably passed away Thursday, May 15, 2024 with her son Matt and
his father Dave and of course her companion and pride of joy; fur baby
Nikki by her side.
Born in Springhill, NS, Dar was a
daughter of the late Fraser «Butch» and Patricia (Callaghan)
Matthews.
Darlene was a true Springhiller and was
brought up by paternal grandparents Evelyn and Chester
Matthews. Dar was a force to be reckoned with and you never
had to wonder what she was thinking. She spoke from her heart and was
a true and loyal friend to many.
Dar will be deeply missed by her sons
Matt Perrin (Carla), Springhill and Luke Perrin, Ontario; their father
Dave Perrin, Springhill; daughter Tessa Reid (John), Springhill;
grandchildren Braden, Frasier, Vayda, Tyrian, Charlie and
Emilia; siblings Jamie, Joey, Darrell, Tina, Kimberly Sue,
and a very special cousin Jess Colborne; as well as many cousins,
aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased
by brothers Troy and Travis and sisters Barbie, Tricia and
Theresa.
Arrangements are under the care and
supervision of the Jones Family Funeral
Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777)
where an Afternoon of Remembrance will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2024
from 2 to 4 pm, all are welcome to attend. Burial will take
place in the Hillside Cemetery, Springhill, NS, at a later
date.
Donations in Dar’s memory may be made to
the LA Animal Shelter.
