Aubrey’s Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle Aubrey Decker at the age of 85 years. He passed peacefully away at Bonne Bay Health Centre, Norris Point surrounded by his loving family.
Aub was born in Parsons Pond on November 1st, 1937.
Aub leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his children; Maude Decker, Blanche (Lamont) Thornhill, Leon Decker and daughter-in-law Jaime-Lyn Thornhill, his grandchildren; Miranda Thornhill (Corey), Terri-Lynn Decker, Bobbi-Jean Biggin and Kayla Biggin, his great grandchildren; Eric Thornhill, Emma Thornhill, Shaye Biggin, Chloe MacDonald, Makenna MacDonald, Jesse Biggin, Alex Biggin and Jackson. Also leaving to mourn, his sisters; Marie Parsons, Serina Blanchard, Marion Parsons (Gerald), Annie Payne, Patsy White (Lyman) and brothers; Henry Decker (Rita) and Anthony Decker (Linda) and sister-in-law Claudine Brown. He will forever missed by his fur baby Marley.
Aub was predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years Mae Decker (nee Brown), his parents Thomas and Mabel Decker, his in-laws Archibald and Martha Brown, his sons; Calvin Decker and Rodney Thornhill, his brothers; Alex Decker (Evelina), Manuel Payne (Bride), Sister Ura (Edgar Brown), sisters-in-law; Rosie Gilley (Melvin), Annie Payne (Carl), brothers-in-law; Simon Brown, Isaac Blanchard, Joe Payne and Ron Parsons, son-in-law Gordon Danuk and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family would like to thank his present homecare workers; Emma Maynard and Carlie Verge whom he loved dearly, and all the past homecare workers. Dr. Bowen for caring for him over the years, Dr. Ishak and the staff of the Bonne Bay Hospital who have been exceptionally kind over the past week, and Rev. Terry Rose for his prayers and kind words.
Visitation will be held at St. Peters Anglican Church in Parsons Pond on Sunday, July 9th,2023 from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm where also the funeral service will take place on Monday, July 10th,2023 at 2 pm with Rev. Terry Rose officiating. Interment will follow at the family plot.
