It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our wonderful Mother and Nonna Assunta in the early morning of August 10th, 2023 at Villa Italia Retirement Residence in her 92nd year. Assunta was born on May 4th, 1932 in Collarmele, Abruzzo, Italy. She is reunited with her deeply missed and never forgotten husband Ezio (2021) of 66 years. She will be immensely missed by her children Gino (Cinzia) Sbraccia and Marcella (Paul) Lico and, as she always said, her greatest gifts, her grandchildren, Adrian, Marco and Gabriel Sbraccia, Em and Veronica Lico. Assunta will once again be with her parents Filippo and Maria D’Alessandro and her Father and Mother in law Luigi and Teresa Sbraccia. Assunta was the last remaining sibling of 7 children. The cherished and loved sister of the late Antonio (late María) D’Alessandro, the late Vincenzo (late Carmelina) D’Alessandro, the late Teresa (late Francesco) Ranalli, the late Giovanni (late Maria Teresa) D’Alessandro, her twin sister, the late Ascenza (late Luigi) Trippanera all of Italy as well as the late Michele (late Maria) D’Alessandro of Australia. Dearest sister-in-law to the late Elena (late Felice) Cipriani, the late Lino (late Amabile) Sbraccia. Assunta will be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Canada, Italy and Australia. Zia Assunta will always be in the hearts of her adored nephews Norman (Rosanna) Cipriani and Piero Cipriani of Italy, whom she loved as her own sons and who they saw as a second mother. We would like to extend our most sincere thanks to the staff of Villa Italia for their care of our mom and Nonna over the last year. Laura and Zaida for the kindness and compassion they showed us with her passing and for making a very difficult situation better with their help. Special thanks to her many Bella’s at the Villa who cared for her as their own, especially Josie, Francine, Sherry and all the nurses. Dr. Gupta and the staff of Friscolanti for their incredible kindness. Assunta will be resting at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL; 43 Barton St. E., with visitation on Monday, August 14th from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 15th, 2023 at St. Ann Parish Ancaster at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Ancaster.
Cara Mamma e Nonna ci hai voluti bene fino al tuo ultimo respiro e ci mancherai più che potremmo descrivere.
Adesso sei di nuovo con papà. Un bacione grande fin a la su!!
