Arthur Zittlau Obituary
Arthur Zittlau passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 27th, 2024, at 81 years of age. Art is welcomed into heaven by his beloved wife and best friend Betty. Cherished and most playful father of Janet Hannigan and husband Michael and Jason Zittlau and girlfriend Nicole.
Much-loved and adored Opa to Emma Riley, Jack, Jack, and Abby.
Art will be missed by his siblings and her in-laws: Shirley Herman, Lenard, Tourangeau, Ron and Joanne Dawson, and Ken and Corrie Dawson, Hedy and Guenther Maag, Grace and Julius Zittlau and Richard Stockwell. Uncle Art will be missed by his many nieces and nephews and his large extended family.
Greeting him at Heaven’s door is , Walter and Emma Zittlau, John and Herta Hohendorf, and Lydia Stockwell, Helen Tourangeau, Max and Ina Dawson, Helen Dawson, Gib Herman, Dorothy Lanoue.
Art retired from education as a principal after 33 years to become the best Opa ever becoming the biggest best cheerleader for his grandchildren’s numerous activities. Art’s faith was strong and he was a proud member at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he actively participated.
Art takes with him many wonderful memories of a life filled with love, fun, and laughter with beloved family and his many friends. His love and dedication to his family will always be remembered. Art and Betty took great pride in hosting large family reunions.
In following Art’s wishes, cremation has occurred. Visitation will take place at Reid Funeral Home, 14 Russell Street, Leamington, ON 519–326-2631 on Thursday January 2, 2024 from 2-5pm and 6-8pm. The funeral service will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Friday January 3, 2025, at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Friends and Family are welcome to share memories online at www.reidfuneralhome.ca
