Passed away peacefully at Humber River Hospital on Friday, July 14, 2023. Many thanks to Dr. Cho and his team in the ICU for their professionalism and compassion.
Arthur Winkler was born and bred in Toronto, very much a child of the city and its times. He began his career providing life insurance but seized the opportunity to become a pioneer in providing insurance services to the Canadian film and television industry, eventually becoming the platinum standard for entertainment insurance in Canada. Arthur was a relentlessly hard-working individual who was highly trusted by friends and film and television producers. He earned two awards for excellence from the Canadian film industry. Said of Arthur by a veteran of Canada’s film business: “Although I never met your father, I knew his name and of his legendary status in the film industry.”
Arthur possessed those rare qualities – honesty and integrity – and he was the rock that family members and business associates turned to in times of trouble.
