Pols, Arie Jerry,
Passed away peacefully at Hospice Quinte on
Sunday, June 25th, 2023 in his 88th year.
Predeceased by his parents, Simon and
Yanna Hendrika Pols (nee Buis)
Predeceased by loving wife and best friend,
Catharina Maria «Tina» Pols (nee Snabel)
Survived by loving son Ronald Charles Pols.
Survived by many nieces and nephews.
Born in the town of Hoofddorp, in the province of North Holland,
in the Netherlands, Jerry was one of twelve children. Since he was
a child, Jerry wanted to emigrate to Canada on his own. When he
turned 18 years of age, Jerry left home with a small suitcase and a
few dollars, boarded a plane for Montreal and never looked back.
He eventually arrived in Lethbridge, Alberta, and began an
incredible journey which would last his entire life.
From working on grain farms; various jobs in BC, and working
in the Klondike gold fields in the Yukon, Jerry was an
adventurous soul who gained valuable life experiences along the
way. He moved his young family to Ontario where he
excelled in farming and construction.
Known as a man who adhered to a strong set of core values and
principles, Jerry was totally devoted to his loving wife «Tina»
and his loving son, Ron.
A gentle man, compassionate and kind man, Jerry had an infectious
smile and a great sense of humour.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Funeral Service will be held in Jerry’s memory at the Weaver
Family Funeral Home, 29 Bay Street, Trenton, ON,
Friday July 7th, 2023 at 11:00AM.
Private Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in Jerry’s memory
to Hospice Quinte or the Canadian Cancer Society.
