Remembering Arden
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arden Dale Hayman, 88 of The Falls on November 28th, 2023 in Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Maxene (Patriquin).
Arden was born in Truro, on August 31st, 1935 to the late Russell and Winnie (McGill) Hayman. He grew up in The Falls alongside his sister, Carol. He began playing the fiddle at the age of seven and continued playing in various groups throughout his life, becoming very well known for his music. He worked in the lumber and trucking industries right up until his retirement. He enjoyed travelling, being outdoors and spending time with his family. Besides his wife Maxene, he is survived by his children; Brandon (Charlene), Ardelle (Dwayne) Joudrie, and Craig (Alison), all of The Falls; grandchildren; Joel (Danielle), Emilly (Patrick), Cody (Emily), Aaron (Katie), Dylan, Bradley (Carly), and Megan; great-Grandchildren; Talan, Danica, Adalyn, Austyn, Braelyn, Lyncoln, Olivia, Ellie and Jenson. He is also survived by his sister, Carol Hanson. Arden was predeceased by his son, Sheldon, his sister Wanda, and his brother-in-law, Maxwell.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 5 from 1pm until time of Memorial Service at 2pm both in Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche, Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson will be officiating. Reception will follow the service with a family interment taking place in The Falls Cemetery.
Arden’s family wish to thank the VON, the Nurses and Staff at the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital and to Palliative Care Nurse, Martha Ferguson for your care and kindness. Donations in Arden’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
