Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Antonio Louro on Thursday October 31, 2024. Beloved husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather. Cherished husband of Isaura Goncalves Louro for 54 years. Loving father to Maria, Elizabeth (Paulo Rolo). He was the proudest grandfather (Avo) to Jesse, Nicole, Ashley and Jacob. He will be deeply missed by many family members and long times friends in Portugal, Brazil and Canada.
Antonio was one of eight siblings and was born and raised in Portugal. He ventured to France initially for a better life but after several years he decided to follow other family members to Canada in 1972, where he would start a new life in their forever home, in order to provide a better future for his family. Antonio was loving, caring, funny, selfless and enjoyed life. He loved Portuguese festivals (festas), music and soccer. He was a very hard worker and always enjoyed helping others in need. He frequently traveled back to Portugal to be reunited with family and many long-time friends. He was devoted and had great passion for his family. He loved and enjoyed intensely his grandkids and was very proud of all their accomplishments. He was not only their Avo but their best friend. Always attending all their sports games and monumental events in their lives.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who supported and provided compassionate care for Antonio at his time of need.
Visitation will be held at Friscolanti Funeral Chapel (43 Barton St. E, Hamilton) on Thursday November 7, 2024 from 6pm-8pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday November 8, 2024 at St. Mary’s Church (170 Park St. N, Hamilton) at 10am with interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Ancaster.
Antonio is now our forever Guardian Angel watching from above. We will forever cherish his infectious laugh, his jokes and his smile. The light he has brought to each of our lives will live on in our hearts forever. Antonio will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
